Clan Creation

Creating a Clan

Applying to create a clan is a significant responsibility. Before applying, please carefully consider the following.:

1. Commitment to the Clan

Leading a clan is a significant commitment that requires your active involvement in the group.
You should be prepared to dedicate time every week to manage the clan's activities, both IC (In-Character) and OOC (Out-of-Character).
Clan leaders should aim to engage members and ensure clan-related activities are consistently happening.

2. Knowledge and Understanding

Familiarize yourself with all group rules and policies.
Understand the cultures and lore of the official clans within the group.
Ensure that your clan concept aligns with the existing world-building and lore of the ARPG.

3. Collaboration and Communication

Clan leaders should be open to collaboration with other members and staff.
Be prepared to engage in respectful and mature discussions, even if they concern your own clan.
Effective communication skills are essential for a clan leader.

4. Responsibility to the Group

Remember that your clan is an integral part of the group's setting, impacting both IC and OOC dynamics.
Decisions made for the clan should consider the welfare and enjoyment of all group members.
Maintain balance and harmony with other official factions within the ARPG.

5. Not a Popularity Contest

Leadership is not about popularity but about managing and promoting the group's interests.
Clan leaders must be willing to make difficult decisions when necessary and resolve conflicts objectively.

6. Discretion and Confidentiality

Staff discussions, member complaints, reprimands, and other group records are private and should not be disclosed without permission.
Respect the privacy of all involved members.

7. Adaptability

Be prepared for changes in rules, cultures, and plots that may occur over time.
Flexibility and the ability to accept constructive feedback are important traits.

8. Monitoring Behavior

Your behavior as a member will influence your ability to lead a clan and join the staff in the future.
Demonstrating leadership qualities, such as initiative and collaboration, is crucial.

9. Taking Initiative

Do not wait for others to bring up issues or initiate roleplay interactions; take the initiative.
Seek answers to questions through available resources like FAQs and Group Rules.

10. Generosity and Respect

Be generous with your time and assistance to help other members enjoy their experience.
Show respect even in challenging or confusing situations, resolving conflicts openly and professionally.

11. Social Responsibility

Be consistent and considerate in your interactions within the community.
Reflect on how your actions and words affect others and make thoughtful choices.

Clan Concept Creation

Draw inspiration from various sources but ensure your clan concept is entirely original.
Avoid themes, settings, or motives too similar to existing official clans.
Conduct in-depth research to create a unique and well-rounded culture.

Clan Information Outline

Prepare an outline for your clan's information, including:
How the clan treats its members.
How the clan treats outsiders.
Details about the clan's culture, including politics, traditions, religious beliefs, values, etc.
Rules and laws enforced within the clan, along with their IC consequences.
Up to 6 distinct tasks or occupations that clan members may take on.
Hierarchy within the clan, including special ranks or titles if any.

Basic Clan Hierarchy

Customize the hierarchy to fit your clan's culture. However, a variant of roles such as leaders, second-in-command, task leaders, mid-rank members, and new members should be present.
Special or plot-related ranks may be added as well.

Supplemental Material

You may create additional supplemental material for your clan, such as religion pages, lexicons, history, etc.
Avoid posting clan information to your public accounts; keep them in a private repository like sta.sh or Google Docs.

Clan Acceptance Process

Clan applications can only be submitted during specified clan application windows.
Submit your clan concept through a designated form by the application deadline.
Current staff will review all applications and create a shortlist of approved clans.
Approved clans will then proceed to a member vote for final acceptance.
New clan leaders will receive guidance on staff routines and clan introduction.

Advice from Staff

Your qualification to serve on staff is the most important aspect of your application.
Interest from members in your clan's dynamics is also important.
Popularity alone should not determine acceptance.
Requirements to Apply

Membership in the group for at least 6 months.
Ability to purchase an associated new character slot for the clan leader.
Payment of the required application fee upon submission.

Creating a clan in the ARPG is a significant responsibility that requires dedication, creativity, and a commitment to the group's well-being. Make sure you are fully prepared to meet these standards before applying.
